11:00 – 12:00 Maths: Today, you will need a piece of string. I would like you to use the string to measure your arm. Cut the string so it is the same length as your arm. Next, I would like you to go on an expedition – can you find things around your house that are longer, shorter and the same length as your arm?

1:00-2:30 Topic: For our Topic session today, we are going to be exploring the first part of the Snail and the Whale’s journey: a visit to the icebergs. First, have a look at our class map; where do you think we can find icebergs?

Listen to the story ‘The Runaway Iceberg’; it has icebergs in like our story, ‘The Snail and The Whale’. Can you draw a picture of a cold place like the ones in the story?

If you went on a polar adventure, what would you take with you. Draw the items or make a list…

2:30 – 3:00 Storytime with Mrs Armstrong, end of day prayer and goodbye song.

1:00 – 2:30 RE: For our RE session today, we are going to exploring water as a symbol of Baptism. You will need a tray of water and a paper flower. Use my steps below to help you. Once you have your flower ready, put it into the water to see something magical happen!

First, draw out your flower.
Next, cut out your flower.
Fold your petals and put it into a plate of water. Watch the magic happen!

Think about the following…

  1. What happened to the flower?
  2. How did the water help the flower open?
  3. What would have happened without the water?

The water brings new life to the flower and gives it colour. This is the same in Baptism where the water allows for new life in God’s family.

2:30 – 3:00 Story time with Mrs Armstrong, end of day prayer and goodbye song.
