Tuesday St Bernadette Class
Tuesday 6th July 2021
Good morning everyone. I look forward to seeing you on Teams at 9.30am for maths and 10.45am for English. Below are the lessons for today.
LO: To read and draw o’clock and half past.
Please complete the activity below which involves reading the time and drawing the time. If you have a printer you may wish to to print the sheet and write the answers on and draw the hands onto the clocks. If you don’t have a printer you can can just write the answers for reading the time and draw your own clocks for the drawing the time activity. Remember to ensure your minute and hour hands are not the same size.
LO: To imitate a story.
Using your story map from yesterday, I would like you to write an imitation of the Meerkat Mail story. Remember you don’t have to rewrite the story word for word. Try to include the 5 parts of a story: opening, build-up, problem, resolution and ending.
Please have a go at reading the information below and answering the questions. Alternatively, read a book on Bug Club or from home.
During Mass we pray for all of God’s family. Can you remember what sorts of things are said during bidding prayers? We pray for those that are sick, less fortunate, preparing for their First Holy Communion, for our own wants and needs etc. What language do we use? What do we say at the end of each prayer and how do the congregation respond?
Bidding prayers follow a particular format. They have ‘We pray for…’ at the start of each prayer, who we are praying for, then ‘Hear our prayer’ at the end of each prayer.
The order of the prayer is:
- Pray for the leaders of the Church (Pope, Bishops, Priests etc)
- Pray for the world
- Pray for those in need
- Pray for the local community
- Pray for members of the school community (e.g. children transitioning to a new school/class, children making their First Holy Communion
- Say the Hail Mary
We pray for the leaders of the church, that they may continue to guide us. Lord in your mercy…
R – Hear our prayer.
We pray for all of the people around the world who have been affected by the pandemic, may they be strengthened by God’s love. Lord in your mercy…
R – Hear our prayer
LO: To explore the prayers of the Mass.
I would like you to have a go at writing your own bidding prayer. You would have heard lots of bidding prayers in Mass and may have read one at a school Mass yourself. If you get stuck there are lots of examples online that may help you.
