Good morning everyone. Today is World Book Day. It is one of my favourite days of the year as I absolutely love books!

Join us today for our Live Sessions (at our usual times) where we will be sharing our favourite books. Feel free to wear a costume at home or even a top with a character that you like one. We have different activities planned throughout the day; we would love you to join in with us.

9:30 – 10:00: Mrs Cull’s and Mrs Armstrong’s favourite book – see if you can guess who they have dressed up as today…

2:30-3:00: Mrs King’s favourite book

Here are some activities for you to complete throughout the day:

2. If you were to create your own story, what would it be about? Can you design a front cover for it?

3. What is your favourite story? Can you share your favourite story with someone at home? Talk about the characters, the setting and why it is your favourite story.

  • How are you going to position your body to be measured?
  • What are you going to use this time? Do you think you will use more or less?
  • How can we make sure our measurement is accurate?
  • Where will we start measuring from and to?
  • What did you find out?

Our Lady of Lourdes Feast Day

Thank you Miss Downes from St Bede’s for preparing this prayer service for us to share.

Good morning everyone. We hope you enjoyed your senses walk yesterday. Here is our plan for today:

9:30-10:30 Phonics Live Session with Mrs Cull.

Today, we are going to have some fun. We are going to play I Spy With My Little Eye. During the live session, I will ask you to find things that begin with a particular sound. You will need to spot the object. You don’t need any resources for this part, just your eyes!

After, we are going to play Phonics Bingo. You will need a piece of paper and a pencil. I will ask you to choose 5 sounds that we have learnt and write them down. I will then say different sounds at random. Tick the sound if you have written it down. Once you have all 5 ticked, shout Bingo!

11:00 – 12:00 Maths: Today, we are going to be continuing our exploration of 9 and 10. Look at the cards below. Do they show 9 or 10?

Can you create your own 9 and 10 cards now?

Our Lady of Lourdes
