- Be on time for the lesson and join the meeting a minute before the specified time.
- Ensure you have an adult with you for the session.
- Join the meeting with your microphone muted and your camera on.
- Don’t use the chat facility in Teams other than when you are instructed by a teacher or have a sensible question.
- Use the hands up feature if you are told to.
- Mute your microphone unless you are asked to contribute.
- Never share the live lesson anywhere else.
- Follow the Acceptable Use Policy.
- Complete the quiz.
- Be positive and contribute when asked.

Yoga Sessions Online
This can be a very worrying and stressful time for children, with lots of change happening all the time. It is extremely important that we nurture and care for the children’s mental health and well-being. Yoga has been proven to decrease stress levels, reduce anxiety and help with relaxation. Here are some website links to online Yoga sessions that your child could do at home. They are aimed at primary school children, and there are different lessons to choose from. We have used them in school before so your child may be familiar with them.

Create a ‘Healthy Living’ sheet that tells the Large Family the importance of exercise and having a balanced diet.
You could create something set out like this below, with your own sentences to show how the Large family can get healthy.
- Food – What is good to eat?
- Meals – A balanced diet
- Taking care of yourself

LO: To write an information text
Create a ‘Healthy Living’ information sheet/pamphlet which outlines to the Large Family the importance of exercise and having a balanced diet.

Chance to Shine (recommended by Worcestershire County Cricket) have decided to try offering schools a live streamed Chance to Shine session once per week on a Wednesday at 2pm. The first session ‘Cricket Taster’ was run last week, and they will be delivering a further 6 weeks of Chance to Shine sessions live streamed on their YouTube channel. The next session is called ‘Cool Catcher’ and will be delivered on Wednesday 20 January 2-2.45PM. If you can’t join live, the session will be available to view immediately afterwards on the same link. Chance to Shine LIVE! | Chance to Shine
This session will support children to improve their throwing and catching skills and help them to track an object in flight. The session will be led by Chance to Shine coaches and is suitable for children at home or at school to take part in. The sessions can be accessed by pupils of all ages and coaches will explain how to differentiate the activities during the session.
The activities can be completed indoors and children will need to find some items to use in the session. To take part you will need:
A ball or a rolled-up pair of socks
A wall to rebound the ball off, with enough space around (2 metres) to complete the activity safely.
You will need- Paper, a pencil, rubber and a sharpener
LO: To begin to create different effects using outlines, edges and shading
Watch the video and practise the different techniques, thinking about how you are holding your pencil. You can pause the video at any time to give you more time to practise. We would love to see your work, so remember to send it to us.

Morning everyone, I am now aware that you did not receive the log in details for ‘Espresso’. You will receive the school log in this week on your parent pay. Apologies for the confusion.
It will be helpful to have access to the different coins for Maths this week so that children become familiar with them.
Year 1 -LO To identify the physical properties of coins
Maths Year 2
LO: To use adjectives for description in a piece of writing.
Please use yesterday’s role on the wall of Mrs Large with the adjectives on as this will help with the activity today.
You are going to write a short character description about Mrs Large, describing her emotions (what she feels like in the story) and her physical appearance (what she looks like).
Hold a sentence in your head and keep saying it so you don’t forget. Remember to sound out your words and use your phonics sounds that you know.
Below is an example of a character description; you can download the word document or just read from the page.
Year 1–LO: To know the story of Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand
Sequence the story of ‘The feeding of the 5000’. Below is an image of the story and also a pdf you can download. Children are to cut up the images and stick in order, if you do not have access to a printer the pictures in order write some key words or a sentence underneath.
Year 2-LO: To understand that Jesus taught his disciples through parables.
Recap yesterday’s story and watch the video again. Today I would like you to write a summary of the parable, e.g. what happened, how did the man who gave the talents (coins) feel? Why is it important not to waste the gifts and talents that God has given to us? Explain how you can show you serve God by using your talents.
RHE (Relationship Health Education)
We are continuing the unit ‘Me, my body, my health’ and we are still focusing on being Clean & Healthy.
Today we would like you to think about Teeth brushing. Talk to someone at home about how our teeth get dirty but often look clean!
Talk about how sometimes our teeth feel fuzzy. The ‘fuzzy’ feeling is plaque, which can cause cavities (holes), toothache, gum disease and even our teeth to fall out!
• Brushing properly removes plaque and freshens our breath.
Design a poster about why it is important to brush our teeth

LO To identify the physical properties of coins
If you have some real coins to look at that will help you, but do not worry if not, as we know that we are paying for a lot contactless at the moment.
Do not watch the last minute of the video as this will give you the answers! Only watch when you’ve complete the task.
Extension; Choose a coin and describe the properties if the coin. Repeat for different coins
LO To add near doubles
It is the final lesson from the addition and subtraction unit using knowledge of near doubles. On Tuesday we will move on to work on money. Underneath the link is an extension task for those that need it.
When you come to the independent task write the near double as that will help you!
LO: To select appropriate adjectives for description
Today we are going to think of words to describe Mrs Large. You looked at describing words last week and they are called adjectives.
The activity is called ‘role on the wall’ and I will model this in our live session for someone not in the book.
Children to complete a role on the wall for Mrs Large.
In the middle of the outline you write adjectives to describe their thoughts, feelings and emotions of the character. Surrounding the outline you write words to describe what they look like and how the character acts.
Below is an outline you can print or just draw it in your book at home.
Extension; Repeat the activity for another character in a Piece of Cake or a character from your favourite book. Don’t forget to use your phonic knowledge to spell your words.
LO Learn that programs execute by following clear instructions and understand that programs respond to inputs to do different things.
In Computing today you will be using Espresso Coding (which many of you have used in school already).
You will need the username and password which was sent via Parent Pay. (We will tell you it in the teams session on Monday too)

Start on level 1 and complete: Under the Sea and Royal Chase. If you complete these you can move on to Transport on the Go and Another Planet.

L.O: To know the story of Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand
Watch the video of ‘The Feeding of the 5000’
Imagine you are the boy with the fish and loaves of bread.
What would you say to Jesus when you gave him the bread? What do you think Jesus would say to you?
Write a couple of questions you think the boy might ask Jesus and write what you think Jesus would have said back.
If you want to you could draw a picture of the boy and Jesus with speech bubbles near their mouth. Or just write them in sentences, don’t forget to use a question mark at the end of the boy’s sentence.
LO: To understand that Jesus taught his disciples through parables.
Read the Parable of the Talents from the bible if you have one or watch the video below. Identify the feelings of the man who gave the talents when he realised some were not being used. What do you think is the message in this parable? What talents do you think you have? How could you use them? In what way could you serve God by using your talents.
Today I would like you to write praise and thanks prayers for the gifts you have been given. What are you good at? What is your talent? (e.g. I am good at maths and I help my friends if they get stuck, my talent is being helpful and I always help my parents around the house, my talent is being funny and I use my talent to cheer people up. Write a prayer to say thank you for your talents.
