Yoga Sessions Online

This can be a very worrying and stressful time for children, with lots of change happening all the time. It is extremely important that we nurture and care for the children’s mental health and well-being. Yoga has been proven to decrease stress levels, reduce anxiety and help with relaxation. Here are some website links to online Yoga sessions that your child could do at home. They are aimed at primary school children, and there are different lessons to choose from. We have used them in school before so your child may be familiar with them.

Advertising Review

This requires some magazines or newspaper or access to the internet with an adult.

Pupils can decide whether they are going to focus on boys or girls. They should select one advertisement that features a realistic male or female image and a second advertisement that features a stereotypical image of girls or boys.

Discuss together which ones are most realistic and the ones they think are most stereotypical. Discuss why this is and what techniques the advertisers are using. How should we react to advertising that we see online? Can we believe everything we read or see on social media?
