Goodmorning everyone. We hope you had a lovely weekend and are ready for a new week of learning.  Here is the plan for today:  

9:30 – 10:30: Live phonics session with Mrs Cull. You will need a pencil and a piece of paper. This is what we will be doing today:      

  1. Revision of Set 1 sounds     
  1. Speedy writing – you will need a pen or felt tip for this part so I can see your writing on camera!    
  1. Helping Fred create some words by putting the sounds together      
  1. Making words using our phonics chart and reading to check      
  1. Fred Talking and blending sounds on green word cards and developing the skill of ‘Fred in our head’      
  1. Spelling words using our Fred Fingers     
  1. Writing these words – you will need your pen and piece of paper for this 

This week, I would also like you to practise blending sounds together, ready for when we get back to school. Please watch and join in with the videos below. Today, Fred needs help with body parts. Do you think you can help him?

11:00 – 12:00 Maths: Today, we are going to be continuing our exploration of size. Look at my picture and think about the following things: 

  • Tell me what is bigger than the fish 
  • Tell me what is smaller than the turtle 
  • What is the biggest creature? 
  • What is the smallest creature?  

1:00-2:30 RE: For our RE session today, we are going to be looking at the Parable of The Talents. Watch the video below:

Now, think about what talents you have. Create a mind-map to show me all of your talents.

Welcome back everyone. We hope you had a fantastic half term and managed to do lots of nice things. Here is our plan for today:

  1. Revision of Set 1 sounds    – In response to the parent and carer questionnaire, we will be focusing on /sh/ 
  1. Speedy writing – you will need a pen or felt tip for this part so I can see your writing on camera!   
  1. Helping Fred create some words by putting the sounds together     
  1. Making words using our phonics chart and reading to check     
  1. Fred Talking and blending sounds on green word cards and developing the skill of ‘Fred in our head’

  1. Look at the pictures below. Can you write the correct word for each picture?  

11:00 – 12:00 Maths: Today, I would like you to listen to the story ‘The Snail and The Whale’; this will be our book for this half term.  

 

After, talk about the story. Think about the following things: 

  • How big do you think a whale is?  
  • Can you compare it to something else that size?  

1:00-2:30 RE: Now we have moved into the time of Lent, we are going to be thinking about our prayers during this time. Create a mind-map about how we can pray together; whether it is at school or at home, or both! Can you create a prayer which shows how we want to be more like Jesus in what we do?

1:00 – 12:00 Maths: This week, we are going to be exploring number 9. First, I’ve got a fantastic new song for you to learn to get you ready for our learning today.  

Now, I would like you to show me 9. Draw a mind map like mine. What do you know about number 9? 

1:00-2:30 RE: In our RE session today, we are going to be learning about people who help us. First, I would like you to think about the role of Father Tony: How does he help people? Who does he help? Create a mind-map to show me what you know.

Next, I would like you to watch the video of the ‘Calling of The Disciples’.

After you have watched the video, think about these questions: 

  1. What does ‘disciple’ mean? 
  1. Why did they follow Jesus? 
  1. How can we follow Jesus?

*On Friday, we will be celebrating Chinese New Year. For one of our activities, you will need to collect empty packets/boxes that you would usually put in your recycling bin.

1:00 – 2:00 RE: Today, we are going to continue our learning about Baptism. So far, we have explored our family at home, in school and at church and also the role of Father Tony. Today, we are going to be learning a Bible story: The Presentation of Jesus in the Temple. Please watch the video below to learn about the story.
