In English this week the children have been working incredibly hard to innovate the class character description based on the boy in Lost and Found. They started by using a photocopy of the class story map and changing elements. They then wrote the new character description following the structure of the original map but with the new parts included. Next week they will be inventing their own character description.

In Maths the children have been continuing with the addition and subtraction unit The focus this week has been on identifying the elements of an addition equation (parts and the whole) and adding by counting on.

In Geography this week the children have used the world map to locate where in the world the UK is. They then learnt all about which four countries make up the United Kingdom and the names of their capital cities. The children were also taught the difference between a town, a county, a country and a continent.

On Wednesday the children went outside again for some more outdoor learning. It was very cold but that didn’t stop them from having lots of fun…
