St Martin de Porres Autumn 2

Published by NJones on

What a busy few weeks we have had in St Martin de Porres! Time is really flying!

In English this half term, the children are learning how to write a setting description based on the book How to Live Forever. They will be using the skills they learnt last half term writing a character description and transferring them to a setting description.

In maths, we are continuing to work on addition and subtraction and beginning to use the strategy of the column method to work out more complex problems that need tens and hundreds to be exchanged.

We are continuing to learn about the Egyptians, with our focus this half term on making a sarcophagus out of clay, So far, the children have designed them and made a prototype out of plasticine.

In RE, we have been learning about how we hear God’s word at Mass. we have learnt about the different readings we hear at Mass and which part of the Bible they are from.

We have also started learning some basic French this half term which the children are thoroughly enjoying so far.

Our awards this half term have gone to Sam, Nadia, Connor and Tiarnie. Well done!

Thank you to everyone who attended parents evening on Teams. It was so nice to see everybody.
