St John Bosco Autumn 2 – Week 2

Published by LAllbutt on

In English the children have been reading creating a story map on their new book called “How to live forever”. They have created pictures and images to help them remember to the story map. And practicing reading this aloud to their partner or class.

They have the choice to take part in the reading competition, reading 3 long books or 6 shorter books. They can read more if they want too!

In Maths, they have been continuing to subtract 4-digit numbers with exchange and understand the inverse between addition and subtraction. This has helped them to check their answers.

In RE, they listened to the story of Moses. From this, they created an account talking about their experience from the point of view of an Israelite.

In Science, the children have been continuing to learn and define sound (our new topic). They used videos and discussions to help their understanding of sound.

In art, they have really enjoyed creating models of their designed sarcophagus using plasticine.

In computing, they have been learning to code through step by step instructions and they have really enjoyed and taken well to this! They continue to work through the levels.

Certificates: For hand writer of the week this award went to Ruby, and for spelling of the week this award went to Eva. The values and virtues award went to Callan for having a positive mindset when working and welcoming mistakes within his learning (learned and wise). Well done!

Have a lovely weekend.
