St John Bosco: Autumn 2 – Week 1

Published by LAllbutt on

A busy first week back in St John Bosco!

In English the children have been reading a new book called “How to live forever”. They have predicted their ideas from the front cover. They have also listened to the book and made predictions about what will happen next, as well as inferring the main character’s personality. Additionally, they have chosen words they found interested and found the meaning of these words.

In Maths, they have been learning to subtract 4-digit numbers and understand the inverse between addition and subtraction. This has helped them to check their answers.

In RE, the children continued to work their way around a bible to identify the text type and message behind them.

In Science, the children have been learning about sound (our new topic). We have been investigating vibrations through using a drum and rice and testing different techniques to notice how vibrations differ.

In computing, they have been learning to code through step by step instructions and they have really enjoyed and taken well to this!

Certificates: For hand writer of the week this award went to Szymon, and for spelling of the week this award went to Julia. The values and virtues award went to William, for always trying his best and helping his friends (learned and wise).

Have a lovely weekend.
