Week 5 – St John Bosco

Published by Lauren Allbutt on

Yet another busy week in St John Bosco!

In English the children have been using their knowledge of story maps from previous weeks to continue improving their writing ideas about the book The Egyptian Cinderella. They worked really hard to include their character description toolkit within their work. And I really am impressed with their level of work!

In RE, the children learnt about creating a table to explain Joseph’s dream and describing how he would have felt and how his brothers would have felt too. This helped them to compare and contrast their ideas in relation to Joseph’s dream.

In Science, the children used torches and card to create shadows. From this they investigated the change in shadows by moving the card away from the light source. They recognised that the closer the card was to the light source the bigger the shadow. They really enjoyed the experimental aspect of the lesson.

In history, they have been continuing to compare Ancient Egyptian life to modern day life. And thinking about which one would they like to live in and why.

Certificates: For hand writer of the week this award went to Erynn, and for spelling of the week this award went to Megan. The values and virtues award went to Zofia, for always setting a good example.

Have a lovely weekend.
