Art Martin de Porres week 3

Published by NJones on

We’ve had another busy week in St Martin de Porres.

In maths this week we started to learn about money, recognising coins and notes and adding amounts together.

The children began to think of a setting that they could write about in English and some of the ideas were amazing.

On Tuesday, we celebrated St Thomas More’s Feast Day. The children watched a lovely mass taken by Father Tony and then made some banners and shields that included our school badge and mission statement and they also used oil pastels to create a portrait of St Thomas More.

Our awards this week went to An’nyah for an improved attitude to learning and to Jakub for always setting an excellent example to the other children.

Our virtues and values award went to Gabriel for his thoughtful acrostic prayer about Jesus in RE.

Some more children will be receiving First Holy Communion tomorrow and all children who have received their First Holy Communion this year will be taking part in the Going Forth Mass on Monday 28th June 2021. Please send your child to school in their Communion clothes with their school uniform in a bag to change into afterwards.

Next Tuesday is Sports day and the children need to come in a t shirt for their house (red, green, blue or yellow). They should know their colour but if you’re not sure please ask me.

Have a good week.
