Week 1 in St Martin de Porres

Published by NJones on

We have had a good first week back in St Martin de Porres.

In English we have heard the story of Leon and the Place Between, which we have all really enjoyed. The book is about a magical place that Leon visits. We will be using this book as a basis for our writing this half term which will be all about setting descriptions.

In maths, we have been finishing off our unit on fractions and we have been comparing and ordering fractions and adding and subtracting fractions.

In RE, we have started a new unit all about The Eucharist being a thanksgiving to God. We thought about lots of different sorts of celebrations and how the Mass is similar to these.

In PE, the children are learning how to play cricket and how to take part in athletic activities. PE will now be on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for the rest of the term.

Our class assembly this week was led by Julia and Harry where we heard the story of the Lost Sheep and how God cares for every single one of us.

In our virtues and values assembly, An’nyah received an award for being faith-filled and hopeful for the lovely thoughtful answers she gives in our RE lessons.

We have got lots of lovely things to look forward to in the next few weeks and I will write again next week.
