St Thomas. Our Last week of Summer 1

Published by SMillward on

The children have all worked extremely hard during their final week of this half term. It has been a very busy six weeks and the children have been so resilient and have settled back in to school life really well.

In English, the children have continued to adapt their own stories by using ‘After the Fall’ has a template. They have written some lovely stories which we all enjoyed reading on Wednesday.

In Maths, we have started multiplication and division. We have learnt the multiplication and division symbol (x and ÷) and are beginning to answer questions involving these symbols.

In RE, we completed our Pentecost unit and thought about the feast day and how we can spread the Good News of Jesus, like the disciples did when they received the Holy Spirit.

In Computing, the children can now log on to the school system (within their own email address and password), open paint and save their work. Next term we will be exploring the Paint app and uploading photos too.

Today the children had a wonderful day for ‘Try Something New Day’. Our theme was ‘Environmental Day’ and the children have been learning about the importance of looking after the planet and they planted Hawthorne Bushes along our playground fence. See below for some photos.

We want to wish you a wonderful half term break and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday 7th June.
