St Bernadette Week 6

Published by cchurchill on

It’s hard to believe we have come to the end of another half term and what a busy half term it has been. The children have grown so much in confidence this half term and they have all produced some fantastic work across the curriculum.

In English, the children wrote their own invented stories. I have really enjoyed reading some of them and look forward to marking the rest to see what adventures their nursery rhyme characters have been on.

In maths, the children have completed end of unit assessments for multiplication and division. Some great scores were achieved so well done. After half term we begin our unit of work on fractions. In year 2 the children learn about halves, quarters, thirds and equivalent fractions (e.g. 1/2 and 2/4). They learn about fractions of objects and fractions of amounts.

In RE, the children learned about the Sacraments. They matched images and words associated with each Sacrament and wrote some information about what they had learned.

Today has been our ‘Environmental Day’ and the children have been learning about the importance of looking after the planet. They planted cherry trees and we are looking forward to watching them grow.

We hope you all have a very happy and restful half term and I look forward to seeing the children back in school on the 7th June.
