Week 5 St Thomas Class

Published by SMillward on

We started the week with Awards Assembly and a big well done to Charlie and Liam. They both have worked confidently in Maths and have tried so hard to subtract a 2-digit number from a 2-digit number.

The week had an unusual start as the class received another letter from HD (Humpty Dumpty) but the ending was missing as the letter had been opened! The children created their own ending to the letter before we finally found the ending and stuck the letter back together. Here is the letter HD has written to St Thomas Class…

The children have started to plan their own story based on the format of ‘After the Fall’ and they will write it next week. We can’t wait to read them!

In Maths, we have started multiplication and division and we will continue to work on this area next week. The children need to know the 2, 5 and 10 times table as this will help them when they come to the division part of the unit.

In RE, we continued to think about Pentecost. The disciples received the Holy Spirit and were able to spread the Good News of Jesus. We celebrate this Feast Day on Sunday 23rd May.

In Science, we learnt about herbivores, carnivores and omnivores…ask your child the difference between them. We also worked in learning partners to create our own food chains.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and fingers crossed the rain stops!
