Week 4 in St Thomas Class

Published by KPinchbeck on

Well done everybody, you have worked so hard this week. We started off the week with watching our virtual Mass which was led by St Teresa’s Class. It was so nice to have Mass said in school again and the children were able to watch it live.

In Maths, we have completed our work on subtraction and will be starting multiplication next week. Year 2 children please practise the 2, 5 and 10 times table this weekend and Year 1 children please practise counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.

In English, you have continued to innovate the story ‘After the Fall’ by changing the character, specific words, events in the story and how the problem was solved. This was very tricky but you managed it and have also worked very hard on making sure that your writing has the correct punctuation.

In RE, we thought about the Feast of the Ascension and Jesus ascending to heaven 40 days after his Resurrection.

In Science, we have been learning about how living things in specific habitats depend on each other for survival. The children were able to identify how plants rely on animals to spread seeds, animals rely on plants for food and shelter and how some animals eat other animals.

In Computing, the children have been working like superstars and have become so confident typing in their usernames and passwords, making sure the capital letters are in the correct place, the @ symbol and full stops! They have also been using the program Paint 3D and have been learning how to use the different functions in the program too.

Well done to Molly-May who has received a Virtues & Values certificate for being compassionate and loving to others.
