Week 3 in St Martin de Porres

Published by NJones on

We’ve had another good week in St Martin de Porres.

In English this week, we have been innovating a diary entry and the children have some really exciting ideas about what has happened during their day based on our modelled write from Carrie’s War.

In maths, we have been learning about tenths and how we can represent tenths as decimals such as 0.1 and 0.2 etc.

The children have really been enjoying our topic this term which is is all about World war 2. This week they used a map to discover which countries were allied countries and which countries were axis countries.

We have been investigating plants in Science and last week we planted some beans and some cress and lettuce. Some of the plants have already started to grow. This week they enjoyed taking the flowers apart so that they could see the parts of the plants that are used for pollination.

In PE, the children have been practising their athletics and skipping skills.

Our class assembly this week was led by Callan and Anika. they led a lovely time of worship where we heard the story of Jesus being left at the temple, which was linked to our prayer theme for May which is Mary our Mother.

Our virtues and values award this week goes to Rowan, who always shows that he is compassionate and loving by saying kind things to people and looking after them. Well done Rowan.

Hope you all have a good week and I will write again next week.
