St Bernadette Week 6

Published by cchurchill on

This week the children have been learning more about the events of Holy Week. They wrote diary entries from Mary’s perspective and thought about how she would have felt knowing what was going to happen to Jesus. On Wednesday it was our Lenten retreat day. The children wrote sorry prayers on rice paper and watched them dissolve and they wrote what they were sorry for on strips of paper and made forgiveness handcuffs. They said sorry and broke their handcuffs, representing sins being forgiven by saying sorry. The children also took part in a walk for Father Hudson’s Society.

Below you will find the year 1 and 2 spelling test words to practise and an example of the mental maths tests. As I sent home the spelling test and mental maths scores you may wish to practise any areas of maths or spellings with your child that you can see they find challenging. Please do not feel this needs to be a lengthy process as you all deserve a well earned break.

Have a wonderful Easter and we look forward to seeing the children when we reopen on the 19th April.
