Week 3 in St Martin de Porres

Published by NJones on

It has been another week in St Martin de Porres. We started with our awards assembly. Well done to Callan who received an award for work in reading, where he reads well and enjoys discussing the story. Also Well done to Henry who has been trying really hard to finish his work this half term. Eva J, Ksavery, Karina and Zofia also received a reading certificate for completing the lime book level. Well done.

In English this week, we continued to write a non chronological report and this week they wrote about the Royal Navy. They did a really good job.

We are continuing to practise addition and subtraction in maths and we have been exchanging 10s and 1s.

In science this week, we started to think about different types of skeletons; endoskeletons, exoskeletons and hydrostatic skeletons.

In RE, we thought about the importance of different stories from the Gospels.

Our assembly on Thursday was led by Harry and Piotr and we learnt about St Thomas the Apostle.

In PE this week, the children completed circuit training on Tuesday and did gymnastics on Thursday.

In our Virtues and Values assembly on Friday, Karina received a reward for being kind to other children and Piotr received an award for looking after his friends. They are both showing the virtue of being prophetic by setting a good example to others. Well done.

Hope you have a good week and I will write again next week.
