This week in St Thomas

First of all can we say a big thank you to those that joined us in our first virtual parents evening. It was a great success and it worked really well. A lot of work went on behind the scenes, so we are pleased that it went off smoothly!

Well done to the children who have learnt their date of birth….we can now add these to our timeline in the classroom.

This week the children have worked so hard. We have been practising counting in twos and will apply this next week to saying the two times table. Please use the hundred square sent home to practise with your child. We will be moving onto counting in fives very soon, so you can practise those too.

We also painted some lovely firework pictures in our Art lesson. We used different techniques to create different patterns of fireworks. We did these as a whole class and worked really well together.

A big well done to the following children who have received certificates this week …Evie, Theo, Molly-May, Zuzanna, Nathaniel, Oliver and Amalia.

The Bug Club log-in details have been sent home again so hopefully there will be even more certificates to give out next week!

The children are continuing to enjoy their science lessons. This week we looked at the specific changes between the seasons (focussing particularly on Autumn into Winter). They thought about the clothes we currently wear and how they will change as the temperature drops. We also discussed the changes in daylight hours and what is happening to the trees around us. I was very impressed by their knowledge. Keep up the excellent work St Thomas Class!
