A good first week in KS2

Published by NJones on

Welcome back to the second half of the Autumn Term.

We have already had a busy time and there is much more to come this term.

Our new topic this term is ‘I am Warrior’ and the children will be learning about the Romans in history and geography. This week they told us what they already knew and what they would like to find out.

Our English is also linked to this as the children will learning how to write a non-chronological report. This week they have been reading about the British Army and the jobs they carry out, ready to imitate it in their writing next week.

Our Science this term is focused on the human body, especially nutrition, the skeleton and how our muscles work. This week, we thought about nutrition and how important it is to have a balanced diet.

Art and DT this term is linked to our Romans topic. The children will be making amphoras (pots) out of clay. This week they designed their amphora ready to test out in plasticine next week.

In maths we are continuing to work on addition and subtractions and learning different methods to work out problems.

Have a good week everyone.
