Our week in St Thomas Class

Published by KPinchbeck on

Hello there, we have had a fantastic first week back at school. A great big well done to those who have been awarded certificates …Evie, Theo, Zuzanna, Dexxy, Vicky and Hayden, keep up the great work!

We have been working hard in all our subjects. In Maths we have completed some practical work using our place value knowledge to position numbers on a blank number line…

Our topic for Science is The Environment so we spent the first part of the lesson going on an Autumn walk and observing some of the changes of the season…

The children have started their new History topic Guy Fawkes and created a large timeline for the classroom. We placed key events the children knew about on the timeline and also their date of birth.

Next week, we will continue our number line work in Maths and estimating were 2-digit numbers and do some problem solving. You can help your child by looking out for 2-digit numbers and talking about their size; discuss how many tens and ones are in each number, if they are bigger or smaller than 50 etc.

Don’t forget your homework to practise counting in twos (you can keep the hundred square) and learning your date of birth.

Reminder: We are changing library books on Tuesday and Thursday.

We hope that you have a wonderful weekend.
