St Thomas Class this week…

Published by KPinchbeck on

What a fun filled week! On Thursday we had a special visitor come into school. He taught us all about The Great Fire of London and because we have been learning all about it in class we could answer lots of his questions. We had a great morning acting out what happened and listening to eye-witness accounts…

In English, we have continued to work in our Read Write Inc groups. In the lessons we are practising different phonics sounds, spelling and writing sentences. Books have gone home on Friday and in the reading diary there is some information for you to read.

In Maths, we have been counting in tens again and linking it to the ten times table and have been learning to say ‘one ten is ten, two tens are twenty…..etc.’ Please practise this at home. Next week we will continue to focus on tens and will start to practise our twos.

In RE, the children in Year 2 acted out the story of Daniel and the Lions and have retold it. Year 1 looked at the Mass and acted out some of the parts of the Mass in small groups.

We have also completed our sponsored walk. The children were fantastic and managed to complete lots of laps of our very big field. WELL DONE ST. THOMAS CLASS!!!
