A great week in St Martin de Porres

Published by NJones on

We have had a lovely week in St Martin de Porres. It started with our awards assembly on Monday. Congratulations to Eva J and Hugh for their excellent example of behaviour and attitude to work.

In maths this week we have been learning about place value and learning about the value of each digit in a 3 digit number for example how many hundreds, how many tens and how many ones in a number. We were also adding and subtracting 10 and 100 to different numbers.

In English we began to look at character descriptions and as we have been reading the book of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, we wrote a description of Willy Wonka.

In RE, the children thought about the groups they belong to and why it is important to belong to a group.

Our topic this half term in Science is Teeth and Digestion so the children learnt about the different types of teeth they have (canines, incisors and molars) and their different functions.

On Friday afternoon, the children logged into the laptops using their new usernames which was a bit of a challenge but everyone managed to get on and to practise their typing skills. See the photos below.

The children have settled into Year 3 really well and it has been a real please getting to know everyone.
